description:
endowed with a keen sense of observation, the painter endeavored to represent trees, grasses, flowers, birds, fish and insects associated with specific times of the year, according to a pictorial genre which shows the evolution of the landscape from one month to the next (tsukinami-e). This work is dedicated to the ninth month of the year. A large bird, looking to the left, is perched on a tree trunk. Its silhouette stands out against a background of branches rendered in very diluted ink. Above left, the moon is obtained using the stock technique. Marks, inscriptions, hallmarks:
