Standing in a niche (with a green curtain hanging), a lady in a rich outfit, with pearls in her hair, around her neck and in her ears, looks at a boy holding out a dish with flowers and fruit to her. Perhaps it is the ancient goddess of harvests – pomona. The painting was previously considered to be a representation of the biblical esther, because until 1968 the figure of the boy was painted over. The painting was probably created in venice among paolo veronese's followers (dorota dec). Date: 16th century. Dimensions: height: 88 cm (34.6 in); width: 75 cm (29.5 in). Collection: National Museum in Kraków. Montemezzano - Woman in a Niche (Pomona), MNK XII-227
