Dearest parents! i've finally got around to writing to you again. I've received a lot of mail again and i thank you very much for that. Unfortunately the knife still hasn't arrived. Well, maybe it will. I'm always really happy when i get mail, it's just as much of a celebration as it was for you. So everything is ok at home. Hopefully dad is already better, he should just go and get some radiation. So that everything is ok! i'm still doing quite well too, still healthy and happy. Karl is doing well too. Karl and i were awarded the infantry assault badge in silver on 18 november 1941!]. Date: 22 November 1941.
