A sleigh is pulled by a reindeer ("the reindeer can run much faster and last much longer than a horse. In some areas people have almost nothing to use other than reindeer. ") seals ("many people in cold countries can meet almost all their needs by catching these animals"); "white bear" ("their arch enemy"). "whale" ("look, there in the water someone is being killed"). (basedow 1785, pp. 288-290. ) – 2. "poultry": hens, roosters, ducks, geese, peacocks; cats ("rats" on the granary). (pp. 293-295. ) – 3. Hunters with a hare on their backs; dogs. Monkeys ("the monkey race is outwardly most similar to man, and also imitates many of his outward actions; therefore monkeys are sometimes kept on chains in houses for amusement. ") (pp. 291-292. ). Date: 1784.
