Azure, three water bougets or (?) arms of john bridges (1666–1724), of barton segrave, northamptonshire, lawyer, antiquarian and topographer "hospitii lincolniensis socio" (bencher of lincoln's inn). A portrait of bridges, painted by sir godfrey kneller in 1706, was engraved by george vertue in 1726, shows the arms: azure, three water bougets or within a bordure ermine, with the same motto. Arms of bridges baronets, of goodneston, kent (cr. 1718), and bridges, baron fitzwalter (cr. 1868): azure, three water bougets or within a bordure ermine (burke, sir bernard, the general armory, london, 1884, p. 122).
