this hotel was located near the st michel bridge, at the corner of rue gilles coeur and the part of the quai des augustins which was formerly called rue de hurepoix, part which is between the bridge and rue gilles coeur. This hotel was occupied by the duchess of etampes. At his request, francis i bought it and had part of it demolished which was rebuilt and decorated with paintings and mottos. It belonged to chancellor séguier and was then called hôtel d'o. The chancellor's daughter having married the duke of luynes, brought him this hotel as a dowry, and then it was named hôtel de luynes (hurtaut, historical dictionary of paris).
