Russian school after giovanni battista lampi (italian, 1751-1830) catherine ii (1729-1796), empress of russia 1762-1796, known as catherine the great, in ermine robes, wearing the diamond-encrusted chain of the imperial russian order of st andrew, a tiara and laurel leaves in her upswept hair on ivory oval, 2 1/8 in. (60 mm. ) high, gilt-metal mount. Date: 18th century.
