In this piece, which serves as a frontispiece to the following seven, a square fountain is represented, decorated with a cornice. Placed; in the middle, it rises to the edge of the board. Water flows through a pipe towards the right of the print, into a basin which extends to the edge. Beyond this pool we see a buffalo, a cow, a donkey and a horse drinking. Behind these animals appear a shepherd and a woman of whom we only see the heads. Below, a large dog, with its front legs on the edge of the pool, drinks similarly. The space to the left of the print is filled by a small wall, dominated by a tree. Object Type: etching print, title page. Date: 1636. Place of creation: Rome.
