Lithographed copies of the collection of Archduke Carl of Austria, Friedrich von Olivier, 1834-1840 (c)

The series of 112 plates of the series 'lithographierte copien der sammlung des erzherzogs carl von oesterreich', published in vienna in 38 parts from 1834 onwards; each plate is hand-copied to the size of the original onto a lithographic stone by one of a team of draughtsmen from the original drawing in the archduke charles's collection (now in the albertina), and printed in a coloured ink and often with a tint-stone; the plates were published loose, not bound, and were registered in order of school and artist, not of production, as follows: 95 to 149: italian drawings 150 to 199: german drawings 200 to 206: dutch and flemish drawings lithographs printed with a tintstone.
