historical commentary:
the old carmelite cul-de-sac, formerly located on the site of the courtyard, extended beyond the entrance portal (back of the courtyard) of the former carmel of the incarnation inside the convent (which has disappeared), by an alley which led to the church. In 1979, the construction of a concrete building on the site of the courtyard required the dismantling of this portal, then its reconstruction in the same place, visible from the window of the building (see "la montagne sainte-geneviève and the latin quarter" a.
