Trophy at left, tools of mason, or stonecutter. Tablet shown with sun shining through clouds. Trophy at right, tools of goldsmiths. Tablet showing liturgical objects and a framed image of the sun, zodiac representations, and a circle drawn by a compass. In the escutcheon below is written: le lapidaire/ et/ l'orfevrerie. Date: 1780. Dimensions: 36.3 x 20.4 cm (14 5/16 x 8 1/16 in.). Medium: black chalk, brush and wash, chalk on white laid paper, pen and black ink. Collection: Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
