The rai on ferdinand bolstraat was built in 1922 as a temporary exhibition building for 5 years and opened with a large car, motorcycle and bicycle exhibition on march 31, 1922. The opening was performed by prince hendrik. It was built and renovated in 1929 and served until 1975. The new rai was built on europaplein between 1958 and 1960. After the opening, the old rai was renamed sports hall south (but popularly the name old rai remained) and used for sports competitions, school holiday activities, etc. Rai stands for rijwiel en automobiel industrie. Date: 22 December 1975.
