Caricature, with a scene at 'le divan', a smoking club (?) in paris, with three men reclining on a settee, smoking cigars ostentatiously; in front of them a table with glasses and two other vessels (one with cigars), on the floor, newspapers and a whip and to the right, top hats on the wall; further back, two men smoke, lying on their backs, near an exotic lampstand in the form of a palm tree with snakes; published in 'aujourd'hui: journal des ridicules', july 1839 lithograph, hand-coloured.
