This photo was used in figure 1-11 in the apollo 11 preliminary science report (nasa sp-214), 1969, which has the following caption:
the view looks northwest across mare crisium (the sea of crises). The large, dark-floored crater firmicus is in the foreground. The average elevation of the highlands is several thousand meters above the floor of the mare. (nasa as11-42-6222). Date: July 1969.
