Phillis hurrell (1746-1826), 1762 portrait by sir joshua reynolds. In 1766, four years after having her portrait painted, phillis married robert froude (1741-1770), patron of molland-cum-knowstone church in devon. The marriage was brief. Froude died in 1770 while phillis was pregnant with their fourth child. The son born posthumously was w:robert hurrell froude (1771–1859), archdeacon of totnes, in devon.
