This map of maastricht shows the siege of the city in 1632 by a dutch army led by frederik hendrik. The emphasis is on the siege machines surrounding the city. Despite strong resistance of the garrison and the succouring spanish troops, the city capitulated 22 august 1632. Shortly before, the stadholder had captured venlo and roermond without much opposition.
