EkaterinaII kokoshnik (variation), Vigilius Eriksen, Конец 1760-х годов

Eriksen, virgilius (workshop) portrait of empress catherine ii in a kokoshnik the original of this portrait was created by the famous danish portraitist v. Eriksen around 1767 and in 1768 was presented to the english doctor thomas dimsdale, who inoculated the empress and the heir against smallpox, and is still kept by the doctor's heirs in england. Our portrait was most likely executed in eriksen's own workshop shortly after the original was painted. Date: Late 1760s.
