The danish 84-gun frederik den sjette was built in 1831 and spent the next 30 years anchored at the naval base holmen in copenhagen. Then, during a war scare in 1861, she was commissioned, and again during the second schleswig war in 1864. This painting would be from the 1861 commission. Object Type: painting. Date: circa 1862.
