This is a facsimile of the original 1755 thomas johnston engraving of the samuel blodgett sketch of the battle of lake george as it was reproduced in the "blodget's plan of the battle on the shores of lake george, 8 september, 1755", a pamphlet published in 1890, which consisted of a speech made by samuel a. Green, md before a meeting of the massachusetts historical society on march 13, 1890. The full title of the johnston engraving is "a prospective plan of the battle fought near lake george on the 8th of september 1755". It was based upon a sketch done by an eyewitness to the battle, samuel blodgett, and published by richard draper in boston in december of 1755. A copy of the 1890 green pamphlet is in the library of congress. Date: 13 March 1908.
