Fair hill burial ground in philadelphia on the nrhp since august 7, 1998. The burial ground is bounded by germantown and indiana aves. , 9th, and cambria sts. In the fairhill neighborhood of north philly. According to quaker usage this is a burial ground, not a cemetery. The land was given by pennsylvania founder william penn to "quaker founder" george fox. He left it to be used for a burial ground and a meetinghouse (church) about 1703. Lucretia mott on many quakers who worked for abolition and women's equality are buried there. No fancy tombstones - everybody is equal in death.
