1420, A Fishing Party (Une Partie de Pêche), Jan van Eyck

Colored drawing in the collection of the louvre in paris. According to recent (2011 and 2012) research it is an original drawing by jan van eyck, which was long wrongly labeled as 16th century copy of jan van eyck. It concerns two separate drawings which where combined (at a later date). Most likely the inner courts in the hague was depicted and the st. Anthony abbot order (of holland) and the order of the garter are present. Possibly (some of the) depicted persons are members of the countly family (of holland). The text on the frame is almost certain of a later date. It says: << veterum burgundiae ducum coniugumque filiorum filiarumque habitus ac vestitus >>. Date: 1420.
