Rec'd apr 23/85". The watercolor was sent along with a letter to rev. Dr. C. H. Strickland (sent by humphrey from boston on march 18) stating ". In compliance with your request, i send by same mail - a study head which i hope may meet your wishes. It is representative of the work i am now much engaged in -- and will i think add more to the attraction of your album than a study in black and white. ". Date: 1885.
