Drawing of a "dacian griffin" reported by hasdeu as having been discovered by emanoil panaiteanu-bardasare on a "mysterious box from bukovina"; linked by hasdeu with herodotus' account of griffins living in hyperborea, as well as with the gryf/jaxa clan of polish nobles.
