Shown are the large and small water towers (left) and the box tower (right), seen from the fountain master's house (east). Below is a top view of the entire waterworks at the red gate. The letter a designates the lochbach, which flows past the upper fountain master's house and is called the vorderer lech from here. B is the fountain stream, whose water is channeled through several openings in the city wall into the fountain master's house, drives the water wheels and is pumped up into the water towers. Date: 1766.
