Explosion du monitor turc litfi-dschelil a braïla ("explosion of the turkish monitor litfi-dschelil in brăila"), in one of the first naval encounters of the russo-turkish war. The incident took place on the romanian danube. Even though the russian bombardment missed it, the heavily armed litfi-dschelil went down in a blaze after maneuvering into an unexploded projectile. Vuillaume places blame on the turkish crew, all of whom died in the explosion. Date: 1878.
