He created this painting in 1832 in the style of the romantism (realism with romantistic tendencies and "neoclassicism" in his portraits). Contemporary is this painting located in the tretyakov-gallery in moscow (room 9). Batsheba is a figure from the old testament and was the mother of solomon and wife of the uriatta, an officer in the army of king david (his grandson)).;this painting remained unfinished.;unfortunately this stamp was postmarked by cto.
