Stamp of the united arab emirates – emirate fujeira; 1972; commemorativwe stamp of the issue "nude paintings". Issue of 5 stamps; depicted ia the stamp uae-fu michel-no. 1008a from 1972 and shows as motive the painting "virsavia" (= "bathsheba at bath") by the russian artist with german roots karl pavlovich briullov (diverse spellings of his family name, among others "brulloff") (1799-1852). He created this painting in 1832 in the style of the romantism (realism with romantistic tendencies and "neoclassicism" in his portraits). Contemporary is this painting located in the tretyakov-gallery in moscow (room 9). Batsheba is a figure from the old testament and was the mother of solomon and wife of the uriatta, an officer in the army of king david (his grandson)).;this painting remained unfinished.;unfortunately this stamp was postmarked by cto.
