Sceptre of the second attire, greek workmanship this sceptre is of the same attire and greek workmanship with the diadem and orb, brought in 1662 to tsar alexei mikhailovich by tsar-grad citizen ivan yuryev and made, as stated in the income and expenditure book of 1665, against the model of the diadem of the pious greek tsar constantine. It is also similar in the unity of workmanship and decoration to the sovereign's staff (fig. No. 41) and the tsar's saadakos (see the bow and quiver, section iii, fig. No. 125 and 126). But it was not included in the inventories of the great treasury until the middle of the last century, but was kept in the armory of the great treasury chamber of the armory treasury and, consequently, was a field scepter and was used together with the royal sadak and horse harness in military armament as a royal mace, of which it also has the shape. In the inventory of the armory treasury of 1686 it is described as follows: “a gold scepter with a stone and with pink enamel, an openwork valance of smooth silver. In the middle of the head there is a crown, on the head a cross, in the cross, in gold sockets there are eighteen faceted diamonds. Near the cross, on the backs, there are four faceted emeralds; on both sides of the cross there is a double-headed eagle with crowns with pink enamel; on the head in the crown there are six large faceted diamonds, and six large worm-shaped yachonts; and under the crown above the belt and in the belt twenty-four small diamonds; in the head and under the head in the apple and in the handle two hundred twenty diamonds large and small, and three hundred fifty-four large and small red-faceted sapphires and ten emeralds. On 12 gold pellets, as mentioned in the description, the most important events in the earthly life of our lord jesus christ are drawn in niello, with the following (greek) signatures: 1. Annunciation. 2. Glory to god in the highest, nativity of christ. Under this inscription is the year 1658 in arabic numerals, corresponding to the presentation of the royal scepter1 to tsar alexei mikhailovich by ivan anastakov of constantinople. 3. The meeting of the lord. 4. The baptism or theophany. 5. The transfiguration. 6. The resurrection of lazarus. 7. The lord's entry into jerusalem. 8. The inscription above the crucifix: i. Н. Ц. I. — the crucifixion of the lord jesus christ. (mary) mother. Saint john. 9. The resurrection of christ. 10. The touch of thomas. Under this inscription are the latin letters: gm 11.
