Pampa indians, from "picturesque illustrations of buenos ayres and monte video, consisting of twenty-four views: accompanied with descriptions of the scenery, and of the costumes, manners, &c. , of the inhabitants of those cities and their environs". Engraving by emeric vidal (1843), based on a sketch made between 1816 and 1819. It shows two pampas indians visiting buenos aires. The two individuals pose at the door of a store in the indian market of the city where ponchos, leather clothing, and rhea feathers were traded for acohol, mate, sugar, foodstuff, and metal tools.
