The square cartouche reads yaoya hambei 八百屋半兵衛 (a character in the play sewa ryōri yaoya kondate); the text in fan reads wada shinzaemon 和田新左衛門 (a character in the play kazashi no hana megumino takatsuna). Date: 1850s. Dimensions: 14 1/8 x 10 1/8 in. (35.9 x 25.7 cm). Medium: ink and color on paper, polychrome woodblock print. Collection: Metropolitan Museum of Art.
