On october 19, the day of the burial, a solemn funeral ceremony took place. Free access to the church was closed. The liturgy began at 10 o'clock. Representatives of the house of romanov stood in the church hall decorated with flowers: two daughters of maria feodorovna - grand duchesses xenia and olga with their husbands grand duke alexander mikhailovich and officer nikolai kulikovsky, grand duke kirill vladimirovich, grand duchess maria pavlovna, her brother grand duke dmitry pavlovich with his american wife, princess tatyana konstantinovna and her brothers princes georgy and gavriil konstantinovich. Four of xenia's six sons - princes feodor, andrei, nikita, vasily - and olga's sons - tikhon and guriy - were at the service. Also present were prince felix yusupov and his wife irina yusupova, granddaughter of maria feodorovna, princess vyazemskaya, prince dolgoruky, admiral rimsky-korsakov with his wife, former russian senators, representatives of old russian families, and the diplomatic corps. Former russian officers and danish guards took turns on guard duty at the coffin.
