The right half is shown; rinceau flanking the central motif, of which half is an escutcheon; a crouching lion biting a snake which in turn bites a child, forms a part of a trophy of arms. Date: 1775–80. Dimensions: 14.5 x 46.8 cm (5 11/16 x 18 7/16 in.); mount: 20.6 x 49.1; ; Mat: 55.9 x 71.1 cm (22 x 28 in.). Medium: black chalk, chalk on white laid paper, pen and black ink.
