Zille Modell Siegesallee, August Kraus, circa 1899

The painter and photographer heinrich zille poses for his friend, sculptor august kraus in his studio at the former siegesallee in berlin. Kraus is working on a bust beside the monument, "wedigo von plotho" commemorating margrave henry ii of brandenburg, who was called "heinrich das kind" ("henry the child"). The sculpture was unveiled on 22 march 1900. At present, the statues are stored at the lapidarium in berlin-kreuzberg. Date: circa 1899.
