The farmer tanshô kôkitsu walking across the rice fields. The true story of three generations, or its full title the true story of three generations of [emperors of] japan (nihon sandaijitsuroku) is a 50-volume book, compiled by, among others, fujiwara no tokihira (871-909) in 901. The poem emphasizes that the 'sacred ropes stretched over the rice fields' are as important as filial obedience.
