The pont-neuf probably seen from the quai des orfèvres, the procession (crews), the daumont with tsar nicolas ii, his wife and president félix faure, the crowd, the tricolor flags, the quai des grands-augustins and the quai conti, buildings including one with inscriptions: "a bauz opticien", the dome of the institute, the pont des arts. Historical commentary:
the pont-neuf invaded by the crowd, on the occasion of the visit of the russian sovereigns in 1896, contrasts with the other watercolor by nocq (card14823), which reveals the other aspect of the banks of the seine (cf. "in the time of marcel proust" p 110)
