The guard parade of frederick the great in the second half of may 1778, goethe stayed in the prussian residence for the first (and only) time as the duke's companion. He saw the guard parade in potsdam, albeit without the king, who was in silesia; in berlin he saw the zoo, the factory, visited the arsenal and the opera, and had lunch with prince henry.
