Forged portrait of Isabeau de Bavaria, Queen of France, Franz Wolfgang Rohrich, between 1810 and 1820

The 19th-century hand writing identifies these women as two italian rivals from the 14th-century french court. However, the style of the costumes suggests 16th-century germany. It has been suggested that the ensemble may be a forgery of the 19th century, made by franz wolfgang rohrich (1787-1834) of nuremberg, who forged paintings in the style of lucas cranach and albrecht dürer. [1]. Object Type: painting. Date: between 1810 and 1820. Dimensions: height: 119 cm (46.8 in); width: 75 cm (29.5 in). Medium: oil on panel. Collection: Waddesdon, The Rothschild Collection (The National Trust). Isabeau of Bavaria - Franz Wolfgang Rohrich (attr.) - 19th century forged double portrait, left side
