Satire praising the originality, creativity and modernism of rossini and of the théatre italien; rossini appears youthful and fashionably attired, with rolled sheets of music bursting from his pockets; he stands with legs spread wide apart for balance, arms at shoulder-height and bent at the elbows; his hands and inclined head support three small figures: manuel del populo garcia (as othello in 'the barber of seville'), madam mainville-fodor (as rosina) and pellegrini (as figaro, in 'the barber of seville'); published in 'le miroir', 13th august 1821 lithograph.
