Assunta - borgianni's extreme work clearly inferior, on a qualitative level, to the artist's production of previous years. The evident drop in quality is generally traced back to borgianni's illness (apparently tuberculosis) which shortly thereafter led to his death. It is also probable that there was a considerable amount of assistance from borgianni in the creation of this painting. Date: 1615.
