Mosaic by jan thorn prikker. Five mosaics at the kunstmuseum süd and wirtschaftsmuseum nord, düsseldorf. The two open corner temples at the kunstmuseum süd and wirtschaftsmuseum nord, which mark the entrance from the rhine side to inselstrasse, are each decorated with a mosaic by the dutchman jan thorn prikker, a teacher at the düsseldorf art academy in the 1920s. Two further corner temples, opposite the others, with mosaics by heinrich nauen are located at the tonhalle west and east, and one at the nrw-forum south. As the works had been classified as degenerate by the national socialists, the building department had covered the large-scale works with a rabitz plaster wall a few centimeters away, which meant that they survived the critical period.
