Hunting for wild boars and foxes, around 1720the painting comes from a series depicting the magnificent hunts of elector charles iii of the palatinate (1661-1742). The original series comprised 16 pictures and hung in schwetzingen castle. The elector palatine gave copies to several courts. They show the effort and splendor that were usual at the hunts.
