Illustration to "le lutrin" in "the works of monsieur boileau. Made english from the last paris edition", 1712, with a fight between clerics in a domed church. A horrified bishop turns away from the struggle; a large devil flies above blowing a conch shell, and an owl hovers above the pulpit. Etching and engraving. Date: between 1690 and 1725.
