The cottage lilla hyttnäs in the village of sundborn in dalarna became karin and carl larsson's home in 1888. Together, they created a personal home characterized by a common interest in art and design as well as the socially and culturally nurturing role of the home. Karin designed furniture, textiles and clothes. Carl painted and decorated. The couple's own creations were mixed with heirlooms and new things, traditional utility objects and older arts and crafts, japanese woodcuts and works by artist friends. Remodeling and extensions gave the old house a new character. Date: 1900.
