Does castle (or: the house of does) stood in leiderdorp (near leiden, netherlands) near the mouth of the does canal. It was built before 1300 and demolished around 1740. Only the outlines of the former moat and some old garden walls are still recognizable. The image is from a series of separately printed engravings, two on one sheet, by a. Rademaker, issued and sold prior to being included in a book edition in 1725. Date: between 1720 and 1725.
