The st quentin canal, 1918 - painted from the temporary bridge erected across the st quentin canal north of bellenglise looking towards bellicourt image: a view across the battle-scarred landscape around the st quentin canal. The canal has two small temporary bridges across it, one of which has collapsed in the middle. There is a canal path on the far bank of the canal and the ground rises up on both sides of the canal.
