Snow of Mt. Yu, Tan Teng-pho, 1947

Snow of Mt. Yu, Tan Teng-pho, 1947

This painting is said to be chen's final work. The composition and tone of the picture appear heavy, the brushstrokes are simple and powerful, and the colors are subtle and changeable. They even completely abandon narrative and turn to poetic condensation. Maybe it's the winter scenery. The snow on the peaks of yushan mountain has not yet melted, and the sunrise has come late. Although the houses and plantains in the close shot have been bathed in a faint golden light, the cold night still envelopes the peaks and the deep blue sky in the middle shot. Object Type: painting. Genre: landscape painting. Date: 1947. Dimensions: height: 24 cm (9.4 in); width: 33 cm (12.9 in). Medium: oil on panel. Chen Chengpo 1947 Mt Yu
