Scene by a river from the kabuki play 'onoe kikugoro ichidai-banashi go-ju-san' showing the actors onoe kikugoro iii as tenjiku (tokubei) kanja (left) in a yellow and brown robe holding a sword above his head, onoe kikugoro iii also as a buddhist monk in the water, ichimura uzaemon xii as tsukimoto genshu (centre), and sawamura sojuro v as shibaemon (right) leaning on his sword. Date: 1847 7th lunar month.
