Ancient embroidered barmas according to the inventory of the great treasury of 150 (1642), the embroidered barmas stored in the armoury chamber were of the following form: “the diadem is sewn on tausin (dark purple) satin deesis and saints and cherubim; between the deesis and the saints the border is strung with pearls. In the border there are twenty-two small beads, and two half-sized silver-gilded ones. Around the pearls it is trimmed with spun gold; between the pearls there are fourteen silver-gilded cords.
