Triumph of vainglory, from bnf ms. Latin 6069-i, petrarch's de viris illustribus, c. 1380. The image is thought to be based on a fresco by giotto in the palace of azzone visconti, in milan. This is one of the forerunners of the iconographic tradition illustrating petrarch's triumphs. Date: circa 1380.
