The painting in the background of the picture shows jesus and the disciples at the sea of tiberias (john 21: 1-8), as a moralizing about the feast in the foreground. Restoration revealed the boy in red, standing between the table and the wall. The figure is not mentioned by west or spengler, who both count 16 people.
