Aspertini sketch-book (so-called london i): 40th opening left (1898,1123. 3(39) verso) and right-hand page (1898,1123. 3(40) recto) with nude men carrying bundles; classical battle scene (left side of opening); a seated helmeted soldier with legs crossed; two men swinging infant bacchus in a basket; mithras killing the bull with chariot of sol and luna above (right side of opening) c. 1535 pen and brown (two shades) ink, brown wash, over black chalk, touches of white heightening, on vellum prepared with a brown wash.
